Alberto charged up

March 6, 2013

Right from the tour of Oman, Alberto Contador has straightaway gone to Porto-Vechhio. After the Oman tour, Alberto seems to be pumping with fighting spirit that he has got after a long time.

He would not want to leave a single ounce for the critics to pinch him as he had been facing lots of it since his poor performance at the Amstel gold race, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne else- Liège. Tours like Tirreno-Adriatico from March 6 to 12, and of course the Criterium International in Porto-Vecchio (March 23 and 24) are the tours in his list which he wants to win in order to get back to his glory.

By this kind of start of the season, Alberto Contador hopes that it would gear more towards tour de France and the kind of performance required for the same. The pressure is necessary according to Contador. But if by chance the tour de France is not won by him, it would not matter much because in spite of the pressure, tour de France is something really special to every cyclist as is believed by him.

Recently, Alberto Contador was asked to testify at the ‘Operacion Puerto’ trial because his former manager Manolo Sainz, at the Liberty Seguros cycling team. But the lawyer of the accused had dropped the idea of Alberta Contador testifying because he believed that the case was going in favor of his client. The case was filed after a doping substance named synacthen was found in his Sainz’s residence in 2006 and he was arrested alongwith Fuentes. But the case has taken recently a new twist as it has been found that it was none other than the Spanish Medical Agency who gave the drug to the team. But another testifier cannot be located and that is bad news.
